CONTROL: 4 things you CAN control

We all seek to gain control in life.

  • Traction control on your car

  • Cost control in business

  • relationships (if he/she could change in the way I want)

Yet, many people focus on things they cannot change

  • other people’s behaviors

  • the past

  • Family!

But there are 4 things you can control to change things in your life.

  1. Control what you look at.

Is watching the news 2 hours a day bringing you down because of all the craziness? Is scrolling your social media reminding you what you don’t have? Choose today to control how much time you spend there and what you want to focus on.

What you focus on will be magnified

2. Control what you think about.

Put aside what worries you, makes you anxious and fill that time and space with more positivity. You are free to decide to think of a friend and text him/her to say how proud you are of their accomplishment. Sending a short video filled with positive words to a family member, coworker or friend will help you think about positive things.

3. Control what you say

Your words matter. To you and to those who hear them. How about you begin to say nice things to people, compliment their character, acknowledge their competencies? How great would that be!

4. Control where you go

You decide your direction for your life. You can choose growth over stagnation. Go follow the program you’ve had the intention to go to for too long. Go take that coffee with a life-giving friend. Go and move forward in that direction of improvement.
